School Programs
2’s Program
Our 2’s program is developed for students who will be turning two by mid-November. Our staff is trained to provide your child with emotional and social support to enhance your child’s growth. A child’s first exposure to school should be a warm, loving, and stimulating experience. We have created the ideal program to foster a strong foundation for learning, growing, and developing. In addition, we offer Literacy, Science, Music & Movement, and Physical Education programs. Here are some of the highlights of Park Shore’s 2’s program:
- Stimulating and friendly environment supplied with hands-on materials that will help our students gain control of their large and small motor skills
- Exposure to thematic units that incorporate colors, shapes, and numbers that will be used to create an engaging learning experience
- Introduction to the alphabet through Art and Music
- Daily Circle Time focusing on numbers and counting
- Use of diverse art materials to encourage creativity and expand the imagination
- Physical development and fun in our Physical Education classes and on our playgrounds and fields
- Learning through structured and free play
- Emphasis on social and emotional growth
- Fostering independence while promoting group play
Three-Year-Old Program
Park Shore’s three-year-old program focuses on foundational skill development while encouraging early learning skills. At this age, children experience significant growth physically, socially, emotionally, and intellectually. During the year, your child will begin to work cohesively within social and interactive group settings. In addition to our extensive Literacy, Science, Music & Movement, and Physical Education programs, here are some of the highlights of Park Shore’s 3’s program:
- Circle Time featuring calendar, weather, and sharing activities
- Language Skill Development
- Use of colors, shapes, and numbers to support thematic learning units
- Sequencing patterns and numbers are used to enhance learning and to introduce pre-math concepts
- Science Program utilizing cutting-edge technology such as robotics and hands-on experiments
- Cultivation and nurturing of pre-reading and writing skills
- Monthly author studies to explore techniques and storytelling styles
- Weekly experiences in our “SEE” Program
- Introduction to American Sign Language and Spanish
- Physical Education classes that promote skill building through large and small group games as well as individual attention
Pre-K Program
Our Pre-K program expands and builds upon the foundations established in our earlier programs. What sets our Pre-K program apart is its comprehensive approach to early childhood education. Our literacy goals and objectives are elevated to provide students with a strong advantage as they enter Kindergarten. In addition to our Science, Literacy, Music & Movement, and Physical Education programs, here are some of the highlights of Park Shore’s Pre-K program:
- Word building and decoding common sight words and high-frequency words
- Development of reading, writing, and phonemic awareness to support text formation, comprehension, and understanding
- Emphasis on written communication and illustration
- Monthly author studies to help students discover the many different writing techniques that books and stories have to offer
- A learning environment that will promote critical thinking, reasoning, and verbal communication
- Mastery of multi-step instructions, social collaborative skills, organizational skills, and skills for Kindergarten readiness
- Social Studies: Exposure to history, geography, and community through books, technology, and hands-on experiences
- Math: Understanding of number formation through Addition, subtraction, sequencing, and statistics
- Build self-esteem, problem-solving abilities, and using language as a learning tool
- Weekly experiences in our “SEE” Enrichment Program
- American Sign Language and Spanish lessons
